*Instant Ions

All PurTron Ionizers include either a pint or quart bottle of Instant Ions. Instant Ions are used to pre-treat a pool during installation to bring the pool up to the proper ionization level immediately. Otherwise it can take a week for the ionizer alone to achieve optimum levels, and during that time the electrodes can wear excessively. By pre-treating the pool with the liquid Instant Ions you will be extending the life of the electrodes. Also, when ever the ionizer has been turned off for extended periods and the copper levels are very low, it is best to use a bottle of Instant Ions to bring the copper levels up first, so as to extend the life of the electrodes.

As shown above, Instant Ions can also be used to treat spas and smaller pools without the need for installing an electronic ionizer. Simply pour a small amount at a time into the water until the proper amount of copper is acheived. Then, test every 2 weeks and add as needed to maintain proper levels. A pint bottle can treat a typical spa for 1-2 years. Eliminate 90% of your chlorine usage - or even 100% by using the NanoStick.

** Manual Polartity Switch

The ion generator consists of a low DC (direct current) voltage, low amperage, power being applied to 2 metal electrodes which are made up of Silver, Copper and Zinc. The small direct current voltage applied to the electrodes when submerged in water cause electrons to flow from one electrode to the other, through the water. Along with ions, molecules of the minerals are also released into the water over a slow gradual process.

A DC (direct current) voltage must be used. DC voltage is voltage whch flows from the - (negative) side to the + (positive) side. Howver, if the polarity is never switched, then the ions will only flow off from one of the electrodes (the - or negative side) toward the + (positive) electrode. Thus, only the negavtively charged electrode will be giving off the minerals, only that electrode would wear down. The positive side would be receiving ions, but they will be contamnated by the solids in the water, such that the positive electrode will begin to build with impurities.

What is needed is for the current to be reversed, positive and negative, at regular intervals, about once per week is good. Thus, for one week one terminal will be positive, the other negative, then for the next week the first will be negative and the other positive. This will not only allow the 2 electrodes to wear evenly, but it also helps to self-clean the electrodes as well.

On the Economy version the pool operator (or pool service man) will need to remember to flip the polarity switch manually once per week

The Standard and Delux units come with an electronic control module that automatically switch the polarities for you. With these models you need not bother having to remember to switch it, these units do it for you automatically

Local instalation available. We are located in Ocala, FL and install in a wide area - including Orlando-Kissimmee / Tampa Bay / Daytona / Jax / Gainesville, etc.
Minimum install fee = $100 for basic Ocala installations - additional travel fees for more distant installations. Additional install charges may be billed at time of install depending on need (sometimes an install is unusually complex, or need to add a box, or tap into electrical wiring, etc, which takes us longer and my require additonal mounting hardware - however, additional install charges will not excced $75, are most installs can be made at the basic $100 fee)

Units are fairly easy to install by a handyman/user - must have plumbing and some electrical handyman experience.

Ion Purifiers pay for themselves quickly by eliminating the need to spend thousands on chemical sanitizers, algicides and clarifiers etc. Operating costs for the ion generator's electrical consumption averages less than 25 cents per month. Periodic oxidizing (now we offer a non-chemical Oxidizor) with a low level halogen and maintaining normal water ph balance are all that's needed.

Easy to install (cut the pipe between the pump and filter, install the unit inline - then plug the ul-listed power supply in to a Ground Fault 120 volt outlet). Or can be hardwired to pump motor timer circuit (120 or 240 volts). We offer installation services locally.
